Company Name: Fonn Enterprises

When I try to import my .iif file into QuickBooks I get an error message that says:
"You cannot import QuickBooks Pro Timer data for a different company. Please open the correct company file."

I have entered the correct company name in every field that asks for it in GetLinked, am I missing something simple? Where does QuickBooks read this information from?

Using QuickBooks Premier 2014 and the latest version of PRLink and importing data from a micros 3700 running the 5.4 software.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the question. Let us see if we point you in the right direction.

The QuickBooks IIF file system is no longer supported by Intuit and its use is discouraged. QuickBooks performs very little (if any) data validation when importing IIF files and accidentally importing a corrupt or incorrectly formatted IIF file can cause corruption in your QuickBooks Company File.

Intuit recommends that all third party applications use the QuickBooks Software Development Kit (QBSDK) to transfer data into QuickBooks. To use the QBSDK transfer method GETLinked must be installed on the same computer as your QuickBooks installation.

To select the QBSDK method in GETLinked you will need to change the QuickBooks Model you selected on the "Payroll Transfer Data Information" screen:
  1. In GETLinked go to the "Setup" menu and Select "PRLink > Location".
  2. Select your location using the location lookup (magnifying glass) or type in your Location.
  3. Click the "Transfer Data" button.
  4. Select "QuickBooks" for the "System" dropdown (You probably already have this selected).
  5. Select "ODBC 8" for the "Model" dropdown.
  6. Select your version of QuickBooks in the "Version" dropdown (2015 US will work with all 2015 versions of QuickBooks).
  7. Click the "Setup" button next to the Version dropdown to open the "QuickBooks Payroll Transfer Setup" screen.
  8. You may be prompted to download and install the "QBFC Installer" which is part of the QBSDK. Follow the onscreen instructions if prompted for this step.
  9. Once you have QBFC installed you should be able to open the "QuickBooks Payroll Transfer Setup" screen.
GETLinked uses the QBSDK to communicate directly with your company file. Make sure you have the correct company file open before proceeding.

On the "QuickBooks Payroll Transfer Setup" screen you can import Pay Codes, Employees and Classes from your company file.
You will need to assign the QuickBooks Pay Codes and Employee List ID's that you import to the pay codes and employees from your Micros system.
Instructions for assigning Pay Codes and Employee Payroll ID's can be found in the "PRLink Setup Instructions" PDF document on our main support page https://getlinked.co/pdf/support.

Once you have all of the Pay Codes and Employee Payroll ID's assigned you should be ready to Import and then Transfer Timecards directly to QuickBooks. No IIF files needed!
See the "PRLink Payroll Period Usage Instructions" PDF document on the support page for help with the Timecard Import and Transfer Process.

Thank you for the post.
