Micros e7 payroll export files use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to store employee clock in and clock out activity. To convert the UTC times back to the local time for your store you must add or subtract a certain number of hours based on which time zone your store is located.

GETLinked Software has included a feature to adjust the Micros e7 UTC times back to your local store time.

To access the feature in GETLinked Software:
1. Click Setup > PRLink > Location and select your Location.
2. Click the Import Data button.
3. On the Payroll Import Data Information screen click the Setup button next to System Specific Setup.

On the “Payroll Setup Micros e7” screen specify the number of hours and minutes you need to adjust based on your stores location. The following screenshot has been set for Eastern Standard Time.

GETLinked reads the UTC time from the Micros e7 payroll export files and adds the UTC offset you specify to determine the original local time at your store. If the UTC offset is set incorrectly and the adjusted time punches end up befor/after midnight the punches will end up on different dates than intended.

A map of UTC offsets by location is provided at http://www.time.gov

Special Considerations for Daylight Savings Time
* The UTC times stored by Micros e7 DO NOT automatically adjust for daylight savings time. If your store location observes daylight savings time then you will need to ADD one hour to the UTC offset for pay periods when daylight savings time is in effect. As an example, the Eastern Time zone difference is -4 hours during daylight savings time rather than -5 hours during standard time.

* If your pay period spans the Daylight Savings Time change you will need to break the import up into two steps. First import the PRE-DST hours then add one hour to the UTC offset and import the POST-DST hours. You can TRANSFER the total hours once you have done both import steps.
