Many GETLinked Software interfaces depend on data files that are copied from your Point of Sale server to another computer. The program that copies the data files is usually run early each morning (after the end of business each day) by a Windows scheduled task. If the scheduled task fails to run for some reason you will likely get a “records not found” error when running the import process in GETLinked.

Here are some common reasons that scheduled tasks fail to run:
1. Password Changed – If your windows username or password was recently changed you may need to update the username / password stored in the scheduled task before it will run correctly.

2. POS Hardware Replaced – If your POS hardware was recently replaced you will likely have to create the scheduled task again. Most POS vendors don’t copy over the scheduled tasks when they replace failed hardware.

Below are links on how to create a new scheduled task

Windows XP / Windows Server 2003 - NOT SUPPORTED!

3. POS Server is running on battery power (or thinks it is) – By default most scheduled tasks are set so that they DO NOT run when the computer is on battery power. Check the “Conditions” tab (Windows 7) or “Power Management” tab (Windows XP) to make sure your task is set to run even if the computer is on battery power.
